Biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation tests

Description of key information
In accordance with column 2 of REACH annex IX, further aquatic and sediment degradation testing (required in section 9.2.1.2 and 9.2.1.4) does not need to be conducted as the chemical safety assessment does not indicate a need for further investigation. The substance has a very low log Koc value, has low adsorptive properties and thus it is considered not to be bioaccumulative. In addition, direct and indirect exposure of the sediment compartment is unlikely. Furthermore, in accordance with column 2 of REACH annex IX, further simulation studies on biodegradation in surface water and sediment (required in section 9.2.1.2 and 9.1.4) are not needed since the substance is readily biodegradable.
