First-aid measures

The measures refer to the substance in orgnanic solvent.

- After inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If it is suspected that fumes are still present, the rescuer should wear an appropriate mask or self-contained breathing apparatus. If not breathing, if breathing is irregular or if respiratory arrest occurs, provide artificial respiration or oxygen by trained personnel. It may be dangerous to the person providing aid to give mouth-to-mouth

resuscitation. Get medical attention. If necessary, call a poison center or physician. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.

- After skin contact: Flush contaminated skin with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Continue to rinse for at least 10 minutes. Get medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse. Clean shoes thoroughly before reuse.

- After eye contact:

Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Check for and remove any contact lenses. Continue to rinse for at least 10 minutes. Get medical attention.

- After swallowing:

Wash out mouth with water. Remove dentures if any. Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If material has been

swallowed and the exposed person is conscious, give small quantities of water to drink. Stop if the exposed person feels sick as vomiting may be dangerous. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. If vomiting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs.Get medical attention. If necessary, call a poison center or physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents:

Use dry chemical, CO2, water spray (fog) or foam.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

High volume water jet

- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases:

carbon oxides (COx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride

Advice for firefighters:

- Special protective equipment for fire-fighters

In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

- Further information:

Contain the spread of the fire-fighting media.

Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces.

Use personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions:

Do not allow to get into surface water, drains and ground water.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:

- Methods for cleaning up:

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.

Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.

Precautions for safe handling:

- Advice on safe handling:

Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation.

- Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

No special precautions required.

- Hygiene measures:

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Keep working clothes separately.

Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.

Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt).
