Description of key information

One key study is presented. This study demonstrates that the test substance Reaction products of 2,2-
dimethylpropane-1,3-diol and methyloxirane has been found to the readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

The test substance Poly[oxy(methyl-1,2-ethanediyl)], α,α’-(2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediyl)bis[ω-hydroxy- has been found to be readily biodegradable with 84% removal after 28 days. As such removal in the environment is expected to be rapid and complete.
