Description of key information

Based on the primary information sourced from the Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of Chemicals, Drugs, and Biologicals (14th Edition), piperonal was reported to be a colorless lustrous crystal.

The substance as such is a solid, but as the substance is used in liquid mixtures, liquid is taken as key value (mainly used for the ECETOC TRA calculations for instance).

liquid
Form:
liquid

Additional information

Information regarding the state/colour of piperonal was sourced from the Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of Chemicals, Drugs, and Biologicals (14th Edition).

In addition, based on the information obtained from a secondary sources such as the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) piperonal is a white or colorless, lustrous crystals with heliotrope odor or very sweet, floral, warm, slightly spicy odor.
