Comparing the behaviour of NE300 with criteria from the Intergovernmental Group on Health Risks from Chemicals (IGHRC ), 2006. Guidelines on Route-to-Route Extrapolation of Toxicity Data when Assessing Health Risks of Chemicals, it is observed that several effects are of a local nature (thickening of limiting ridge of stomach, erosion in glandular stomach, squamous cell hyperplasia of forestomach, along with skin corrosion and eye corrosion). Furthermore, no information is available for absorption efficiency between route, half-life of the chemical, hepatic first-pass effects, and whether metabolism by intestinal microflora occurs; nor is the sensitivity of lung bronchial and alveolar tissue to the substance known. The criteria for route-to-route extrapolation of DNELs are not met.
