Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
-84 °C
Remarks on result:
other: 1st. glass transition temperature
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
-55 °C
Remarks on result:
other: 2nd glass transition temperature

No melting temperature was found between -100°C and 50°C.

Two reproducible glass transitions were found at -84°C and -55°C in the 2nd heating. A small endothermic peak starting at about - 47°C onset shows the melting of a secondary component.

Conclusions:
The test substance has no melting temperature between -100°C and 50°C.
Two glass transition temperature were found at -84°C and -55°C

Description of key information

- No melting point between -100°C and 50°C

- Glass transition temperature were observed at -84°C and -55°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
