Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a 96h semi static acute toxicity to fish test in Cyprinus carpio, the EC50 value for the test substance BMS 587172 -01, was >0.011 mg/L. There were no effects at the limit of solubility.

In a 48h acute aquatic toxicity test in Daphnia magna with the test substance BMS 587172 -01, resulted in a EC50 value for daphnia magna, of 0.2mg/L based on the mean measured test concentrations. The NOEC was 0.007 mg/L.

Exposure to BMS 587172 -01 resulted in a EbC50 (72 hours) and a ErC50 (0-72 hours) of >0.098 mg/L in Selenastrum Capricornutum, Strain No. CCAP 278/4 based on a geometric mean measured value. The NOEC was determined to be >0.098 mg/L. These values were greater than the water solubility for the test.

BMS 587172 -01 had no biologically significant inhibitory effect on the respiration rate of activated sludge at 1000 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Loading Rate (NOELR) after 3 hours exposure was 1000 mg/L and the ELR50 was > 1000 mg/L.

Based on the above, the substance is classified for the environment based on the effects seen just below the limit of solubility for the Daphnia Magna
