The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists accessed through the Toxnet website, which is a peer reviewed source, reports that 2 -chloropropionic acid failed to give a positive result in guinea pigs in a sensitisation test. In addition the IUCLID 4 dataset reports that the sodium salt of 2 -chloropropionic acid was tested in a guinea pig maximisation test according to OECD test guidleine 406. The study was carried out according to GLP. The study outcome was that the substance was not sensitising.
