Description of key information

A waiver argument is presented to justify that a particle size distribution study is not required for 2-Chloropropionic acid since it is a liquid at standard temperature and pressure.

Additional information

2 -Chloropropionic acid is a liquid at standard temperature and pressure.

Annex VII (section 7.14 [Granulometry]) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 states :-

"The study does not need to be conducted if the substance is marketed or used in a non-solid or granular form."

Since 2 -Chloropropionic acid is a liquid at standard temperature and pressure it is submitted that to conduct a granulometry / particle size distribution study is not relevant, necessary or justified.
