Description of key information

van Erp (2001) was considered reliable and adequate for use in determining the short-term LC50 in earthworms. The study was performed to the internationally accepted guideline OECD 207 and was GLP compliant.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
201 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

Reference: van Erp, Y.H.M. (2001)

Reliability: 1

Results: Under the conditions of the present study Tribromophenol did not induce mortality or other effects in Eisenia foetida at 100 mg/kg d.s. after 14 days of exposure (NOEC) with a LC50 of 201 mg/kg d.s. (95% confidence interval between 184 and 226 mg/kg d.s. The LC50 (7 d) was 276 mg/kg and the LC50 (14d) was 201 mg/kg.
