Description of key information

The density of Boron Trifluoride estimated by calculation from the Ideal Gas Law is 2.77 g/L at 25°C/1 atm.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to REACH annex VII, column 2, a study on the density does not need to be conducted as Boron Trifluoride is a gas.

An estimation can be based on the Ideal Gas Law as follows: d=MW*P/(R*T), and gives at 25°C and 1 atm:

d= 67.81 g.mol-1 * 101325 Pa /(8.3145 m3.Pa.K-1.mol-1 *298.15 K) = 2772 g/m3 = 2.77 g/L.
