First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with water.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides,
soot and hydrogen chloride gas. [UK c.a. assumes water,
foam and carbon dioxide may be used to extinguish fires].
However in normal use the substance is handled as an
aqueous dispersion.

Accidental release measures

Handling and storage

Handling: Wear gloves and safety glasses

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: After application to paper recovery is not possible

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Absorb on clay

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended [UK c.a.: use flue-gas purification as nitrogen
oxides and hydrogen chloride gas may be formed].

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended. However, the substance does appear to
biodegrade. Absorbtion on sludge may also occur.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not be used by the public
