First-aid measures

Skin Contact: May be absorbed through the skin. Wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Eye Contact: Bathe the eye with running water for 15 minutes. Transfer to hospital for specialist examination.

Inhalation: Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so. Seek medical attention if symptoms develop.

Ingestion: If accidentally swallowed obtain medical attention immediately Rinse mouth with water and afterward drink plenty of water Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide. Dry chemical powder. Alcohol or polymer foam. Do not use water. Use water spray to cool containers.

Exposure Hazards: This material is combustible.  Fire and explosions may occur if vapours are allowed to accumulate in the vicinity of a source of ignition. Toxic, corrosive or flammable thermal decomposition products which may include sulphur compounds are expected when this material is exposed to fire.

Protective Equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions: Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective clothing

Environmental Precautions: Do not discharge into drains or rivers. Contain the spillage using bunding.

Clean Up Procedure Sweep up or vacuum up spillage. Transfer to a closable, labelled salvage container for disposal by an appropriate method.

Handling and storage

Handling Requirements: Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area. Ensure there is exhaust ventilation of the area. Earth any equipment used in handling. If dusts/vapours are formed, take precautionary measures against static charge and keep away from sources of ignition.

Storage Conditions: Store in cool, well ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed. Ensure lighting and electrical equipment are not a source of ignition.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Measures: Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area. Ensure there is exhaust ventilation of the area. Ensure lighting and electrical equipment are not a source of ignition.

Respiratory Protection: Compressed air supplied breathing apparatus will be required if closed systems or effective local exhaust ventilation cannot be provided.

Hand Protection: Protective gloves. Nitrile gloves.

Eye Protection: Safety glasses with side-shields. Tightly fitting safety goggles. Ensure eye bath is to hand.

Skin Protection: Protective clothing, antistatic. Ensure safety shower is to hand.

Stability and reactivity

Stable under normal conditions.

In combustion emits toxic fumes.

Disposal considerations

Collect for recycling or recovery wherever possible.

Recommended method of disposal is incineration via in an on-land licenced incinerator or via an authorised waste disposal contractor in an approved waste disposal site.

Empty containers should be decontaminated and where possible recycled otherwise they should be disposed of according to local regulations.
