Executive summary:

The acute toxicity to fish was not conduced for 67/548/EEC Level 1A, in agreement with the UK Environment Agency, because the substance is insoluble in water, but rapidly undergoes surface hydrolysis to well-known products of low toxicity: aluminium hydroxide, a keto ester, and a C5-diol, all of low aquatic toxicity. Testing according to EU Method C1 on the closely related substance XP338 gave 96 h LC50 in rainbow trout of >100 mg/L, NOEC 100 mg/L (expressed as parent test material).
