Description of key information

In GLP study conducted according to EU Method A.3, the relative density of EDDS acid was calculated to be 1589 kg/m3 [1.59 g/cm3] at 19oC (Gair, 2002)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:

Additional information

In a GLP study conducted according to EU Method A.3, the relative density of EDDS acid was determined, on two occassions, using the pycnometer method. The mean density was calculated as 1.59 g/cm3 at 19oC (Gair, 2002).

In addition, in a GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 109, the density of trisodium EDDS was 1.63 g/cm3 at 20oC (van Helvoirt, 1993b).

[Data on trisodium EDDS is considered relevant to use for understanding the potential relative density of EDDS acid, and is acceptable for using as read-across information].
