Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure. Obtain medical attention.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with water. If symptoms (irritation or blistering) occur obtain medical attention.
Eye Contact:Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. OBTAIN IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. Continue irrigation until medical attention can be obtained.
Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Do NOT induce vomiting as a First-Aid measure. Obtain immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur together with soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing. Moisten spill
with water and transfer to containers for disposal by
incineration in accordance with local, state or national
legislation. Wash spill site with hot water and detergent avoiding
contamination of watercourses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Do not breathe dust. Wear protective gloves/ eye protection/ face protection. The material can form flammable dust clouds in air. Dust clouds may be extremely sensitive to ignition by electrostatic discharge and other ignition sources. Ensure good earthing of equipment and personnel.

Storage: Store in sealed containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 kg steel drums, with plastic liners.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure Controls
Atmospheric levels should be controlled using the principles of good occupational hygiene practice as specified in the workplace risk assessment.Prevent entry into drains, sewers or watercourses.

Occupational exposure controls
Decisions about whether the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is appropriate as part of the control strategy should be based on the workplace risk assessment and should take account of local legislative requirements for selection and use. There are multiple factors that will affect the specific requirements such as amount and concentration of the material, duration of exposure, frequency of exposure, external environmental conditions, the task, the user etc. The information below should not be used in isolation and should be considered in the context of the workplace risk assessment on a case by case basis.

Respiratory protection Use an air fed hood if the risk assessment does not support the selection of other protection.

Skin protection Use impervious clothing to protect against direct contact with the substance or for repeated, excessive handling use full chemical protective suit if the risk assessment does not support the selection of other protection. Use impervious protective gloves to protect against direct contact with the substance. If the substance is dissolved or wetted use a glove material that is resistant to the solvent/liquid.

Eye protection Use goggles to protect against direct contact with the substance if the risk assessment does not support the selection of other protection.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No known reactivity hazard under normal conditions.
Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: None known.
Conditions to avoid: No conditions producing hazardous situations known.
Incompatible materials: None known.
Hazardous decomposition products: No hazardous decomposition products are known.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate using temperatures above 1100 deg C at a suitable
facility. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen
and sulfur should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
