Description of key information

No information on the potential toxicity of the substance Gaskamine 240 to sediment-dwelling organisms is available. Since testing of toxicity to sediment-dwelling organisms is not required for substances manufactured or imported in quantities ranging from 10 to 100 tonnes per year, the potential sediment toxicity will be predicted on the basis of available aquatic toxicity data by using the equilibrium partitioning method. Due to the high adsorption potential an additional assessment factor of 10 will be applied in the calculation of the PNEC. The suspended matter-water partition coefficient used in the calculation is 439 m3/m3.
