Additional information

The submission item is a liquid and its flammability is therefore described by the flash-point. Due its chemical structure and the experience gained during handling and use of the substance, it has not to be assumed that flammable gases form in contact with water or that the substance has pyrophoric properties. In accordance with ECHA Guideline R.7a, it is therefore not deemed necessary to conduct an additional test on the flammability of the substance. Even though aerosol application of the test item is possible, no test needed as the flash point of the test item is 177 °C, and thus far beyond the cut-off self-ignition temperature for aerosol testing of 93 °C.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The flashpoint of the submission item is 177 °C which is far beyond the cut-off value of 60 °C. In accordance with Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP) the substance therefore is not to be classified as a flammable liquid. Classification as flammable aerosol also not applicable, as flash point of the test item is > 93 °C (i.e. the cut-off self-ignition temperature value for aerosol testing).
