Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Surface tension = 74.5 mN/m at 19.7°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
74.5
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
2 000

Additional information

One reliable key study is available (Franke J, 2008), GLP compliant, performed according to the ring method as described in the EU and OECD test guidelines.

As the test item contains 49.5% of water and as the surface tension increases with the concentration of the substance, TRIQUAT Monomer has been tested at 1 g/L based on dry matter (i.e. 2 g/L of test item). This approach has been selected as a worst case, considering that if at 2g/L the substance is not surface active, it won't be surface activeat 1g/L.
