Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: See SDS

Symptoms and effects Irritating to eyes and skin.

Inhalation Move to fresh air, rest, half upright position,

loosen clothing. Oxygen or artificial respiration if there

is difficulty in breathing. Seek medical advice after

significant exposure.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Symptoms and effects Irritating to eyes and skin.

Eye Rinse immediately and as long as possible with plenty of

water. Eyelids should be held away from the eyeball to

ensure thorough rinsing. Seek medical advice if irritation

persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: See SDS

Symptoms and effects Irritating to eyes and skin.

Skin Remove all contaminated clothing immediately. Wash off

with plenty of soap and water. Seek medical advice if

irritation develops. Launder clothes before reuse.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: See SDS

Symptoms and effects Irritating to eyes and skin.

Ingestion DO NOT induce vomiting because of risk of

aspiration. Seek medical advice.

Advice to physician Symptomatic treatment is advised.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: See SDS

Extinguishing media Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder,

water, foam.

Unsuitable extinguishing media halones.

Special exposure hazards Decomposition under effect of

heating. If involved in a fire, it will support combustion.

In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

Product arising from burning: normal hydrocarbon combustion products, strongly dependent

on conditions

Hazardous decomposition/

combustion products

Acetone, Propane, Isopropanol, Acetic acid, 3-Methyl-2-

butanon, Isopropyl acetate, Mixture of aliphatic and

aromatic hydrocarbon solvents and other, normal

decomposition and oxidation products of hydrocarbons

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: See SDS

Protective equipment Wear suitable protective clothing. Wear

self contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: See SDS

Personal precautions Do not breathe fumes/vapour. Avoid

contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental precautions Do not allow to enter drains or

water courses.

Methods for cleaning up Collect as much as possible in a

clean container for (preferable) reuse or disposal. Cover

the remainder with inert absorbent (e.g. vermiculite) for

disposal. The waste should NOT be confined.

Handling and storage

Handling: See SDS, ch

Handling Do not eat, drink or smoke in application area.

Never weigh out in the storage room. Do not breathe

fumes/vapour. Do not pipet by mouth. Handle in well

ventilated areas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Confinement must be avoided. Never bring peroxide into

direct contact with accelerator during processing. Weigh

ut

and add peroxide and accelerator separately.

Fire and explosion prevention: Use explosion protected

equipment. Avoid shock and friction. Take precautionary

measures against static discharges. Keep away from sources

of ignition - No smoking.

Other information Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep

working clothing separately and do not take them

home.

Storage: See SDS

Storage requirements Store in accordance with

ocal/national

regulations. Keep away from food, drink and animal

feedingstuffs. Keep container tightly closed in a cool

place. Store in a dry, well ventilated place away from

sources of heat and direct sunlight. Keep container upright

to prevent leakage. Keep away from reducing agents (e.g.

amines), acids, alkalies and heavy metal compounds (e.g.

accelerators, driers, metal soaps) Do not mix with

peroxide accelerators. Do not mix with reducing agents.

Avoid temperatures above 10 CC.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 35 KG PE or PP containers

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: if stored at temperatures above 10 deg C, substance may

spontaneously decompose and cause fire or explosion

Chemical reaction with water: Dangerous reactions with water are not expected. See Notox

statement on the flammability (contact with water) of

Trigonox R-946

Dust explosion: Not applicable

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Trigonox R-938 cannot be recycled or recovered after use

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Should not be attempted because of the potential for

dangerous reactions
