Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: This should not occur due to the nature of the imported

preparation.

Remove affected personnel to fresh air.

Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water.

Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: This should not occur during normal use.

If ingestion occurs seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder or appropriate foam.

Product arising from burning: Noxious gases may be evolved at high temperatures during

pyrolysis (such as Carbon oxides and fluorides).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus.

Full protective equipment.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Extract vapours safely. Evacuate personnel from immediate

vicinity.

Do not allow to enter sewers, surface or ground waters.

Dam in leaked liquid with suitable material (e.g. earth).

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to

the relevant national or international standards.

Collect spillages mechanically.

Take up using liquid-binding material, e.g. kieselguhr.

While taking up the substance, prevent skin and eye contact

as well as inhalation of it.

Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in

the same way as the original substance containers.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local, regional

and national regulations.

For this purpose, wear the personal protective equipment

described under "handling". Do not allow leaked substance to

enter drains or aquatic environments.

Handling and storage

Handling: All working methods must always be designed so that exposure

by inhalation of the substance is minimized. In addition,

skin and eye contact with the substance should be avoided.

Closed or at least splashproof equipment should be used

during filling, transfer and metered feeding as well as

during sampling.

The substance and preparation should be stored, handled and

used under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in

conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid

exposure by professionals handling the substance.

In the case of handling in open systems, any dust that can

form must be extracted directly at the point of origin. The

extracted air should only be returned to the work area after

adequate cleaning using tested equipment. If technical

extraction or ventilation measures are not possible or are

insufficient, all operators should wear full PPE (gloves,

boilersuit and eye protection). Such protective equipment

should conform to the appropriate international or national

standards as follows,

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166.

Outdoor clothing should be kept separate from working

clothes.

These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: Store inside fibre drums provided at dry, ambient storage

conditions.

Keep out of direct sunlight and avoid contact with water.

Keep containers tightly closed and secure against falling.

Avoid product residues on the packing drums.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The solid pellets of the preparation will be contained

inside plastic bags.

32 bags of the preparation will be loaded onto 1 pallet,

these will then by surrounded by cartons and tied with

string to form a solid pallet suitable for stacking.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: None known.

Dust explosion: Not applicable as the substance is a liquid.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: There is currently no recycling policy for this substance.

Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from

minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically

or technically feasible, and such waste material will be

disposed of by landfill.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance has may

be clastogenic and mutagenic (due to the positive outcomes

of the AMES and Chromosome aberration tests) and may be

harmful to aquatic organisms and may cause long-term adverse

effects in the aquatic environment.

No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the

hazardous health properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None recommended

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable
