The apparatus used to determine the auto-flammability is constructed according to IEC 79-4 (see also DIN 51 794): Oven: Sommer & Runge (SUR) KG, Temperature control: Eurotherm.

This study used the preliminary test stage only. The temperature of the apparatus was increased from a starting temperature step by step with approximately 50 K to temperatures over 600 °C. For each measurement, 5 drops of TFEE-5 were added to the apparatus. More liquid was used at elevated temperatures (Table). The test was performed three times. No ignition was observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
No self-ignition of TFEE-5 according to Guideline European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, test A.15. was observed up to a temperature of 672 °C.
Executive summary:

Self-ignition of TFEE-5 was assessed according to Guideline European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, test A.15. In three trials conducted at temperatures up to 672 °C, no self-ignition was observed.

This test was conducted according to internationally-accepted guidelines and under GLP criteria. It is reliable without restrictions.
