First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes continuously with water for at least 15 minutes
and obtain medical assistance.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water. If irritation develops, seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, foam or dry chemical may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Evacuate area.

Scoop up spillage, avoid dust generation and place in a
suitable, properly labelled container for recovery or
disposal.

Clean the spillage area with water. Dispose of waste water
at an appropriate facility.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic
chemicals. When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately
controlled other than by the use of personal protective
equipment, eye protection (eg. safety glasses with side-
shields), impervious gloves and protective clothing with
long sleeves should be worn. Such protective equipment
should conform to the appropriate international or national
standards.

If dust is present, a laboratory fume hood is suitable for
small scale work, otherwise local exhaust ventilation or an
appropriate respirator should be used.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in a dry, cool place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Closed plastic bags contained within fibre kegs containing
upto 50 kg of material.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No treatment is practicable to neutralise the hazardous
environmental properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material may be disposed of by landfill at an
authorised tip in accordance with local regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a
licensed waste treatment processor in accordance with local
regulations. Stack gases should be scrubbed to remove oxides
of nitrogen. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
