Additional information

2 -Hexyl-2 '-hydroxy-5 '-methyldecananilide (AF-654) is non-volatile (vapour pressure 9.0 ± 1.0 × 10-3Pa at 20 °C) and not readily biodegradable substance (4% after 29 days). Hydrolysis is not expected to be a relevant degradation pathway for this substance since it is highly insoluble in water (water solubility ≤ 0.02 mg/L at 20 °C). Based on the log Pow (>6.2 and 8.4 (calculated)) and the estimated BCF values, AF-654 exhibits a potential for bioaccumulation in biota. The substance shows a tendency for adsorption to solid particles in view of the log Koc values (> 5.63) and therefore, potential to be mainly distributed in the soil and sediment compartments if released into the environment.
