Oxidising properties:

Additional information

On the basis of the chemical structure the substance 2 -Hexyl-2 '-hydroxy-5 'methyldecananilide (AF-654) is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials. The test substance is incapable of burning, when mixed with cellulose, at a higher or equal rate compared with the maximum burning rate of a reference mixture of cellulose and barium nitrate (criterion postulated in EU Method A.17). The substance molecule does not contain any group that might act as an oxidizing agent - the only oxygen atom that is present is bonded to carbon, thus the molecule is oxygen-deficient.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on oxidising properties of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 or Directive 67/548/EEC and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification:

Based on the chemical structure the substance is not oxidising.
