Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

non explosive (EU A.14, based on assessment of structural features and oxygen balance)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The molecular structure of the substance 2-hexyldecanoic acid [4-(6-tert-butyl-7-chloro-1H-pyrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazol-2-yl)phenylcarbamoyl]methylester (UM-235) does not contain any chemically instable or highly energetic groups that might lead to an explosion.

Using C32H48ClN5O3 as molecular formula and 586.22 g/mol as molecular weight for UM-235, the oxygen balance for the test substance was calculated to be -232 %. This value is outside the region where there may be a potential for explodability.

In conclusion, UM-235 is not explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on explosive properties of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 or Directive 67/548/EEC, and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification: Based on assessment of the chemical structure and oxygen balance, the substance is not explosive.
