Additional information

The endpoint “phototransformation in air” is not a data requirement for the registered substance. However, for the sake of completeness this endpoint is covered by a short summary of the available data.

One study on the photolytic degradation of (2E)-1-[(6-chloropyridin-3-yl)methyl]-N-nitroimidazolidin-2-imine in air, according to the guideline “Federal Biological Institute for Agriculture and Forestry (BBA), Germany: Guidelines for the Testing of Plant Protection Products in Registration Procedure, Part IV, 6-1 (July 1990)”, is available.

Using AOPWIN Program version 1.87 (8/98) a half-life of 0.85 h and an OH reaction rate of 151.68 x 10E+12 [cm³/molecules sec] were calculated for the test substance.

On account of the relative short chemical lifetime of the test substance in the air it is to be expected that the active ingredient cannot be transported in gaseous phase over large distances and cannot accumulate in air.
