Individual results of the measurement of the surface tension:
The surface tension values of the two diluted aqueous solutions of the test item were determined.
The measurement was carried out at 20 °C ± 0.5 °C.
A correction factor (Harkins & Jordan) is included.
The age of the test solutions at the beginning of the measurement was 27 hours 23 minutes for the first test solution and 26 hours 51 minutes for the second test solution. The age of the test solution is defined as the period of time from the preparation of the solution to the recording of the surface tension value.

Mean (experiments 1 to 2): σmean = 70.49 mN/m
Standard deviation: 0.57 mN/m
Relative standard deviation: 0.8 %
The mean value, multiplied by the calibration factor (F= 1.0219) results in:
σ = σmeanx F = 72.0 mN/m
Description of key information
72 mN/m at 20 °C, concentration 530.5 mg/L (ca. 90% saturated concentration in water)(OECD 115, EU A.5, OECD harmonised ring method)
The substance is not surface active.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Surface tension:
- 72
- in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
- 530.5
Additional information
In an earlier experiment (OECD 115, ring method), resulting in the value of 72.2 mN/m at 19.8 °C, concentration 458.91 mg/L, it was confirmed that the substance was not surface active.
