Additional information

The substance has been tested for acute toxicity towards daphnia and toxicity towards freshwater algae. Whereas the EC50 for daphnia magna following 48 hours exposure was found being at a concentration of 0.19 mg/L (measured) the ErC50 towards freshwater algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) was found being 2.96 mg/L (measured). The NOEC for freshwater algae following 72 hours exposure was found being 0.14 mg/L (measured).

Conclusion on classification

Based on the outcome of studies determining the acute toxicity towards freshwater invertebrates and freshwater algae and considering that the substance is not expected to be easily degraded in the environment the substance is classified as aquatic acute, category 1 and aquatic chronic, category 1 according to CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008). No M-factor (M = 1) is required.
