Specific details on test material used for the study:
Test item: FMOC-HIS-AIB-OH TFA LS
Batch No.: 0020002355
Appearance: white powder
Manufacturing date: 13 September 2020
Retest date: 23 August 2024
Storage condition: at 5 ± 3 °C
Key result
Surface tension:
70 mN/m
Temp.:
20 °C
Conc.:
30 mg/L

The test item solution was held at constant temperature (20.0 ± 0.5 °C) in a temperature controlled room. The surface tension of FMOC-HIS-AIB-OH TFA LS aqueous solution (ca. 15 mg / 500 ml ) was found to be 70.3 (164 sec*), 70.1 (138 sec*), 70.0 (140 sec*), 69.8 (190 sec*), 70.9 (139 sec*) and 70.8 mN/m (137 sec*) (resulting a mean value 70 mN/m) at 20 °C using the ring method.

(* Time expired since the test item was transferred into the test vessel.)

The density of the test solution was determined to be 0.998 g/mL.

As the mean value is higher than 60 mN/m, FMOC-HIS-AIB-OH TFA LS is classified as not surface active.

Conclusions:
FMOC-HIS-AIB-OH TFA LS is classified as not surface active.
Executive summary:

In the course of this study aqueous solutions were prepared at ca. 15 mg test item / 500 mL water concentration level. Surface tension of these solutions was determined applying the ring method. The test was performed with the help of Krüss Easy Dyne type tensiometer.

The surface tension of FMOC-HIS-AIB-OH TFA LS aqueous solution (ca. 15 mg / 500 mL) was found to be 70 mN/m at 20 °C using the ring method.

As this value is higher than 60 mN/m, FMOC-HIS-AIB-OH TFA LS is classified as not surface active.
