Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test substance FAT 40549/A was found to be non-explosive.
Executive summary:

The determination of the physico-chemical data was based on the EEC-Directive 92/69/EEC of 31 July 1992, part A, methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A. 14 "explosive properties".

Thermal sensitivity (effect of a flame): The test result was regarded as negative, since no explosion (fragmentation of the tube into three or more pieces) occurred in any of the three individual tests using 6.0 mm or 2.0 mm diameter orifice plates.

Mechanical sensitivity (shock): The test result was regarded as negative, since no explosion (bursting into flame and/or a report equivalent to explosion) occurred in any of the six individual tests using a drop weight of 10 kg from a drop height of 0.40 m (40 J) in the specified falling hammer apparatus.

Mechanical sensitivity (friction): The test result was regarded as negative, since no explosion (crepitation and/or a report or bursting into flame are equivalent to explosion) occurred in any of the six individual tests using a 360 N loading in the specified friction tester.

Based on the findings of this study, the test substance was concluded to be non explosive.

Description of key information

The test substance is considered to be non explosive.

Additional information

The determination of the physico-chemical data was based on the EEC-Directive 92/69/EEC of 31 July 1992, part A, methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A. 14 "explosive properties".

Thermal sensitivity (effect of a flame):The test result was regarded as negative, since no explosion (fragmentation of the tube into three or more pieces) occurred in any of the three individual tests using 6.0 mm or 2.0 mm diameter orifice plates.

Based on the findings of this study, the test substance was concluded to be non explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the findings in a test on explosivity, the substance is considered non-explosive according to CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008) and DSD (Directive 67/548/EEC).
