Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Based on the weight of evidence from the (Q)SARs of the five constituents, the 48-hour LC50 for the test item was determined to be 2.528 mg/L (estimated).

Toxicity to aquatic algae

Based on the weight of evidence from the (Q)SARs of the five constituents, the 96-h EC50 for the test item was determined to be 0.774 mg/L (estimated).

Toxicity to microorganisms

The 3-hour EC50 of the test item was determined to be > 1000 mg/L (nominal).

Additional information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Based on the (Q)SAR calculations of the five constituents, the lowest predicted 48 -h LC50 value of 2.528 mg/L is taken as the worst case LC50 for the test item. The constituents are within the applicability domain of the model.

Toxicity to aquatic algae

Based on the (Q)SAR calculations of the five constituents, the lowest predicted EC50 value of 0.774 mg/L is taken as the worst case EC50 for the test item. The constituents are within the applicability domain of the model.

Aerobic microorganisms

The assessment of toxicity towards aerobic microorganisms was based solely on data acquired with the target substance isobutyl acrylate. The EC50 after 3-h exposure in a respiration inhibition test with domestic activated sludge according to OECD TG 209 was > 1000 mg/L (BASF SE, 2020).
