Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The test item 3-Mercapto-1,2,4-triazole should be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and as non-flammable solid (for UN regulations). No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.

Executive summary:

First, a safety test was performed. A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner in order to derive safety precautions. The test item melted into a clear white liquid and discoloured into yellow-brown.

In the preliminary screening test following the EU and UN method, the test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. The test item melted into a yellow-brown liquid. No signs of an ignition were observed.

Therefore, the test item3-Mercapto-1,2,4-triazoleshould be considered as

not highly flammable (for EU regulations)

                                                        non-flammable solid (for UN regulations)
