Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: internal guideline : laser granulometry (GEMO PPH-300-00)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Laser diffusion granulometry is an indirect measurement technique commonly used to determine the size distribution of granular powder materials. The principle of the method is as follows: the optical unit of the granulometer records the image of the diffusion (diffraction, reflection, refraction) of a monochromatic radiation by a suspension of particles, diffusion images are calculated from a diffusion model, according to theoretical particle size distributions, the calculated images and the measured image are adjusted by the least squares method.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
Laser scattering/diffraction
Type of particle tested:
primary particle
Type of distribution:
volumetric distribution
