During the cooling phase down to -90 °C no thermal effects could be observed. In the subsequent heating phase no thermal effects could be detected up to room temperature, at which the test item is a liquid. Due to this result, it can be stated that the test item has no melting or freezing point down to a temperature of -90 °C. During the heating phase the test item showed an exothermic effect in the temperature range of 160 – 240 °C with an average energy release of -100 J/g. An endothermic effect was observed in the temperature range of 290 – 350 °C, which can be assigned to the boiling of the test item.

Conclusions:
No freezing point was observed down to -90 °C.
Executive summary:

The melting point of the test item was determined according to OECD test guideline 102 and Regulation EC No. 440/2008, Method A.1. Under ambient conditions, the test item is liquid. The tests were started at ambient temperature. The temperature was first decreased to -90 °C at a constant cooling rate of 0.25 K/min. After 30 min at -90 °C the temperature was increased up to 500 °C at a constant heating rate of 10 K/min. The endothermic effect in the temperature range of 290 – 350 °C was ascribed to the boiling point. No further thermal effects were observed up to the end temperature of 500 °C. Therefore, it is concluded that the test item has no melting point in the temperature range -90 °C to 500 °C.
