At 258.9 deg C the sample started to expand and changed its color to dark brown. At 268.6 deg C the sample was foamed, colored black and solidified.

Main test

The decomposition started at about 252 deg C. The color of the sample changed to dark brown and at about 256 deg C the sample expanded, changed its color to black and solidified.

Conclusions:
The test substance does not melt under the conditions of the test. The test item decomposed before melting.

Description of key information

No melting point could be determined in a GLP study according to OECD No. 102 and EU A.1 (Tognucci, 2002) since decomposition started before melting. This study is considered reliable (Klimisch 1) and considered as key study for this endpoint.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The GLP study of Tognucci (2002) to determine the melting point of T002102 was performed according to OECD guideline No. 102 and EEC Directive 92/69, A.1 and concluded that the substance does not melt under the conditions of the test and decomposed before melting (the decomposition started at about 252°C). This study is considered reliable (Klimisch 1) and assigned as key study for this endpoint.
