Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General information

In case of accident or unwellness, seek medical advice immediately (show directions for use or safety data sheet if

possible). When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.

Following inhalation: Provide fresh air. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician. In case of inhalation of decomposition

products, affected person should be moved into fresh air and kept still.

In case of skin contact: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. After contact with molten product, cool skin

area rapidly with cold water. Do not peel solidified product off the skin. Immediate medical treatment required

because corrosive injuries that are not treated are hard to cure. In case of skin irritation, consult a physician.

After eye contact: In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart

and consult an ophthalmologist. Protect uninjured eye.

After ingestion: If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate

medical attention.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: no information available.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: None

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray jet alcohol resistant foam Excess water

Unsuitable extinguishing media: High power water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fire may be liberated: Carbon monoxide Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Advice for firefighters: In case of fire: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Additional information: Co-ordinate fire-fighting measures to the fire surroundings. Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Use water

spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water

separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Use personal protection equipment. Special danger of slipping by

leaking/spilling product.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Cover drains. Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Take up mechanically. Treat the recovered material as prescribed in the section on waste disposal.

Reference to other sections: None

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

All work processes must always be designed so that the following is as low as possible: Inhalation of dust/particles If

handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation have to be used. It is recommended to design all work

processes always so that the following is excluded: Eye contact Only use the material in places where open light, fire

and other flammable sources can be kept away. Wear personal protection equipment (refer to section 8).

Protective measures: Technical measures All work processes must always be designed so that the following is excluded: Inhalation of

dust/particles Inhalation of vapours or spray/mists All work processes must always be designed so that the following is

as low as possible: Dust deposits

Measures to prevent fire:The product is: Flammable Dust can form an explosive mixture with air. Keep away from sources of heat (e.g. hot

surfaces), sparks and open flames. Provide earthing of containers, equipment, pumps and ventilation facilities. Take

precautionary measures against static discharges.

Measures to prevent aerosol and dust generation: Provide adequate ventilation as well as local exhaustion at critical locations. During filling, metering, mixing and sampling must be used: Devices with local exhaust Dust must be exhausted directly at the point of origin. For

cleaning, approved industrial vacuum cleaners must be used, dust class: St1

Environmental precautions: See section 8 of SDS

Advices on general occupational hygiene: When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels

Keep/Store only in original container. Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage area. Maximum storage temperature

up to 50°C

Hints on joint storage

Storage class (VCI) : 5.2

Storage class (TRGS 510) : 5.2

Do not store together with: Acid Oxidising agent Food and feedingstuffs

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Protect against : Humidity. UV-radiation/sunlight

Specific end use(s): None

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters : None

Exposure controls

Personal protection equipment : Eye/face protection

Suitable eye protection : Eye glasses with side protection

Skin protection: Hand protection: Suitable material : NBR (Nitrile rubber)

Additional hand protection measures : Check leak tightness/impermeability prior to use. Do not wear gloves

near rotary machines and tools. Wear cotton undermitten if possible. Take recovery periods for skin regeneration.

Body protection : Suitable protective clothing : lab coat Overall Disposable suit

Remark : Only wear fitting, comfortable and clean protective clothing. Barrier creams are not substitutes for body

protection.

Respiratory protection : Respiratory protection necessary at: exceeding exposure limit values

Suitable respiratory protection apparatus : Half-face mask or quarter facepiece: maximum use concentration for substances with exposure limits: P1 filter: up

to a max. of 4 times the exposure limit. P2 filter: up to a max. of 10 times the exposure limit. P3 filter: up to a max.

of 30 times the expo

Remark : The filter class must be suitable for the maximum contaminant concentration (gas/vapour/aerosol/particulates) that

may arise when handling the product. If the concentration is exceeded, self-contained breathing apparatus must be

used.

General health and safety measures : Wash hands before breaks and after work. When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff. Remove contaminated,

saturated clothing immediately. Separate storage of work clothes.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No information available.

Chemical stability: No information available.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Danger of dust explosion. Due to gaseous decomposition products, overpressure can occur in tightly sealed containers. Danger of bursting container.

Conditions to avoid: In case of exceeding the storage temperature: Due to gaseous decomposition products, overpressure can occur in

tightly sealed containers.

Incompatible materials: No information available.

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Product/Packaging disposal

The allocation of waste identity numbers/waste descriptions must be carried out according to the EEC, specific to the

industry and process. Before self-disposal of the waste, it is necessary to determine whether transfer duties or sell

obligations are observed.

Waste treatment options

Appropriate disposal / Product

Dispose of waste according to "Kreislaufwirtschafts- und Abfallgesetz (KrW-/AbfG)".

Appropriate disposal / Package

Non-contaminated packages may be recycled. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance

itself.
