1.1.              RESULTS

 

 

Temperature was measured in case of each experiment at the outside and inside of the flask. The starting temperature was approximately 231°C, the steps for increasing the temperaturewasapproximately50°Cfirstlyandifpositiveignitionoccurs,thestepsfor increasing/decreasing wassmaller.

 

The temperature distribution was steady outside the flask.

The ignition delay time was determined in each case when ignition was observed. The test was carried out at 97 kPa atmospheric pressure.

Conclusions:
The measured auto-ignition temperature of Ethanol, 2-(2-butoxyethoxy)-, reaction products with phosphorus oxide (P2O5), compds. with N,N-dimethylcyclohexanamine was 380°C.
Executive summary:

The auto-ignition temperature is the lowest temperature of the inner surface of an enclosure that results in ignition of a gas, vapour or liquid injected into the enclosure. The objective of this study was to determine the auto-ignition temperature of the test item in air at atmospheric pressure. A small sample of the test item (liquid) was inserted into an uniformly heated 500 mL glass flask containing air at a predetermined temperature. The lowest temperature at which hot-flame ignition occurs for a series of prescribed sample volumes was taken to be the hot-flame auto-ignition temperature of the chemical.
