First-aid measures

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Eyes: in case of contact, immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Skin: in case of contact, immediately wash skin with soap and copious amounts of water. Inhalation: if inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Ingestion: wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. If large quantities of material are swallowed, call a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

1. Extinguishing media
Use water or carbon dioxide.

2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Burning produces heavy smoke.

3. Advice for firefighters
Wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and protective fire fighting clothing (includes fire fighting helmet, coat, pants, boots and gloves). Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.

Accidental release measures

1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
In case of accidental release of a large volume, clear all personnel from area. Do not breathe vapors. Ventilate area of leak or spill. Wear protective equipment including positive pressure self-contained or air supplied breathing apparatus. Follow confined space entry procedures if applicable, ASTM D-4276 and OSHA 29CFR 1910.146.

2 Environmental precautions
Contain product to prevent contamination of soil, surface water or groundwater. Retain contaminated washing water and dispose it. In case of gas escape or of entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the responsible authorities. Suitable material for taking up: absorbing material, organic, sand.

3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Wash with plenty of water.

Handling and storage

1 Precautions for safe handling
Avoid contact with skin and eyes, inhalation of vapours and mists. Do not eat or drink while working.

2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store at controlled room temperature. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.

3 Specific end use(s)

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls: handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Personal protective equipment Eye/face protection: face shield and safety glasses. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU). Skin protection: handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique (without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices. Wash and dry hands. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Body Protection: complete suit protecting against chemicals. The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace. Respiratory protection: for nuisance exposures use type P95 (US) or type P1 (EU EN 143) particle respirator. For higher level protection use type OV/AG/P99 (US) or type ABEK-P2 (EU EN 143) respirator cartridges. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).
