Justifications and discussions

Category definition:
All enzymes are built of different combinations of the same 20 common amino acids and thus the physical and chemical characteristics are very similar for different enzymes. Therefore, read-across from other enzymes for physical-chemical properties should be fully applicable.
Category description:
The vapor pressure of four different enzymes (freeze-dried) was measured. All enzymes had vapor pressure in the order of 10-3 Pa and it is assumed to be similar for all enzymes in general.
Category rationale:
1. CATEGORY HYPOTHESIS
All enzymes are built of different combinations of the same 20 common amino acids and thus the physical and chemical characteristics are very similar for different enzymes. Therefore, read-across from other enzymes for physical-chemical properties should be fully applicable.

2. CATEGORY JUSTIFICATION
All tested enzymes had vapor pressure in the order of 10-3 Pa and it is assumed to be similar for all enzymes in general.

3. APPLICABILITY DOMAIN OF THE CATEGORY
All enzyme substances
