Description of key information

The test substance is considered to be non-flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flash point of the test substance ’Squalene-rich fraction obtained from vegetable oil deodorizer distillate by transesterification, crystallisation and vacuum distillation’ was determined according to EU Method A.9, in compliance with GLP (Huber-Lohr, 2019). Under the study conditions, the flash point of the test substance was determined to be 185ºC (Huber-Lohr, 2019).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flash point, the test substance ‘Squalene-rich fraction obtained from vegetable oil deodorizer distillate by transesterification, crystallisation and vacuum distillation’ does not warrant classification for flammability according to the CLP criteria (EC 1272/2008).
