JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to REACH Regulation 1907/2006 Annex IX, 9.1. column 2, a long-term toxicity testing shall be considered if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates the need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms. The chemical safety assessment does not indicate in the present case a need for long-term tests with fish. The available acute toxicity tests showed no effects up to the threshold concentration of 100 mg/L for a water-soluble substance (OECD2000 Series on testing and assessment No. 23), indicating that aquatic toxicity to fish is unlikely to occur. Hence, there is no need for a long-term study with aquatic fish. In addition, the substance is used as part of the reactive system of epoxy resin and curing agent. Release of the substance from this system is not possible once it is fully reacted.
