Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Toxicity data is available for a monoconstituent substance that is a major part of this multi-constituent substance and that is considered representative of the substance as a whole. In a Microtox assay using TetraEGME and a photobacterium, the IC50 was found to be 23.5g/L and the IC10 10g/lL Against a broad spectrum micro-organisms mixture, the IC10 was not reached when tested up to 50g/L using the closely related substance TEGME and in an activated sludge respiration inhibition test, no inhibition was found up to the maximum tested concentration of 2000mg/l with the same substance. The data allows a confident prediction that the toxicity to micro-organisms of the substance as a whole is very low. As toxicity for aquatic species as a whole decreases with increasing molecular weight and this is not contradicted here, the key value used is the IC10 for TetraEGME.
