Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Separate measurements for the two components:

-1.12 (measured), -1.46 (calculated) for the substance 2-(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy)ethanol

-1.73 for the substance 3, 6, 9, 12-tetraoxotridecanol, a major component (calculated)

-2.00 for the substance 3,6,9,12,15 -pentaoxahexadecanol, a major component (calculated)

Based on the offset between the available measured data and the QSAR predictions for this class of compound, the partition coefficient for this multi-constituent substance is likely to be in the range -1.65 to -1.4.

Additional information

Both measured and calculated values are available for two components of this multi-constituent substance. The QSAR appears to estimate the partition coefficient slightly lower (offset ~-0.35) compared to the available measured value. On the basis of the available information, it is reasonable to conclude that the partition co-efficient is likely to fall within the range -1.65 to -1.4. Values are however comfortably below those that might cause concern for environmental accumulation. This substance has a clear preference to partition to the water phase. A value of -1.5 is used as the single key value.
