The DSC measurement with the final temperature of 500 °C showed an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 250 - 295 °C and in the temperature range of 380 - 455 °C, respectively.

Aluminium with a hole

After the DSC measurements with the final test temperature of 500 °C a black residue was observed in the aluminium crucibles. A mass loss of about 68 % occurred. Therefore the test item had no boiling point at atmospheric conditions.

Conclusions:
The test item had no boiling point at atmospheric conditions up to 500 'C.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD test guideline 103, Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.2 to determine the boiling point of the test item using differential scanning calorimetry. The test item was weighed out into an aluminium crucible with a hole under an inert atmosphere (nitrogen). A test with about 9 -15 mg of the test item were performed. As reference crucible, an empty aluminium crucible was used. In a defined atmosphere (nitrogen) the test item is heated up from ambient temperature to the final temperature at a constant heating rate (10 K/min). The quantity of heat absorbed or released is measured and recorded. The measurements in aluminium crucibles with a hole showed no endothermal effect up to 500 °C.
