Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Acute L(E)C50 values are available for crustacean and for algae growth rate. All tests are based on the water accommodated fraction (filtered through 0.4 μm glass fibre filter) of the poorly soluble "Reaction mass of sodium pyrovanadate and sodium orthovanadate and diiron trioxide and sodium sulfate and sodiumironsulfide" after agitation at 100 rpm on a horizontal shaker at ambient temperature in the dark for 7 days and all results are expressed on total substance concentration. The lowest L(E)C50 of 4.57 mg test item/L was observed for the immobility of Daphnia magna and this value was selected as the acute reference value for classification of this test substance. The chronic NOEC for growth rate of the alga Pseudokircherniella subcapitata was 18.8 mg test item/L. No chronic toxicity data are available for the effect of this test substance on aquatic invertebrates or fish.

Based on these data, the classification for "Reaction mass of sodium pyrovanadate and sodium orthovanadate and diiron trioxide and sodium sulfate and sodiumironsulfide" is “Aquatic chronic category 2” (acute reference value >1 and ≤10 mg/L and no chronic data available for most sensitive trophic level).

It should be noted that this classification is based on an incomplete toxicity data-sets (no data available for fish), and therefore the classification may be considered as provisional and subject to further information becoming available.
