PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

In an enhanced biodegradation test, 63% biodegradation of Vammar D10 was achieved after 28 d. Vammar D10, although not readily biodegradable, does not meet the criterion for Persistent or very Persistent since biodegradation potential was demonstrated in an enhanced test.

An experimental evaluation of Vammar D10 indicates that it may meet the Bioaccumulative (B) or very Bioaccumulative (vB) criteria based on the results of a fish dietary bioaccumulation study that yielded a lipid normalized BMF of slightly above unity.

Vammar D10 is not expected to be carcinogenic, mutagenic or a reproductive/developmental toxin. In addition, Vammar D10 does not pose acute or chronic toxicity hazards to aquatic organisms. Consequently, this substance does not meet the Toxic (T) criteria.

The data on the PBT/vPvB properties of Vammar D10 do not meet the specific criteria detailed in Annex XIII and demonstrate that Vammar D10 is neither a PBT nor vPvB.
