Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
14 June 2018 to 26 June 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
Study was conducted in accordance with international guidelines and in accordance with GLP
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
Date of Inspection: 18 July 2017 - 20 July 2017 Date on Certfiicate: 28 November 2017
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Preliminary Screening

The pile melted produced yellow spark like emissions then ignited and burnt with a small yellow flame that emitted light grey fumes. The flame self-extinguished without propagating combustion.

The result of the preliminary screening test obviated the need to perform the main test.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item has been determined to be not highly flammable as it did not propagate combustion over 200 mm in the preliminary screening test.
Executive summary:

The test item has been determined to be not highly flammable as it did not propagate combustion over 200 mm in the preliminary screening test using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.10 Flammability (Solids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Description of key information

The test item has been determined to be not highly flammable as it did not propagate combustion over 200 mm in the preliminary screening test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The test item has been determined to be not highly flammable as it did not propagate combustion over 200 mm in the preliminary screening test using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.10 Flammability (Solids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Justification for classification or non-classification

As the test item did not propagate combustion over 200 mm in the preliminary screening test using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.10 Flammability (Solids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, it does not meet the criteria for classification as a flammable solid.
