A representative weight loss curve of the test item is shown in Figure 4. The results of the isothermal TGA analysis for the test item and the vapour pressure at 20°C and 25°C are given in Table 2 and Table 3.

The plot of the log PT of the test item as function of the reciprocal temperatures is shown in Figure 5. The equation of the curve was: log PT = -8794 ×1/T + 19.06 (r = 0.9993, n = 8).

The calculated vapour pressure of the test item was outside the validated range of the method. Therefore the vapour pressure of the test item was determined to be lower than that of benzo(ghi)perylene. The values are given in Table 4.

Conclusions:
The isothermal TGA effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of CMTX 2-carboxymethyloxy-thioxanthone.

The vapour pressure of the test item at 20°C (293K) and 25°C (298K) was:

@ 20°C: < 1.3E-8 Pa; < 1.0E-10 mm Hg
@ 25°C: < 5.5E-8 Pa; < 4.1E-10 mm Hg
Executive summary:

In this guideline (OECD 104) study, the test material (EC 282-803-8) was determined to have the following vapour pressures:

20°C 25°C
[Pa] [mm Hg] [Pa] [mm Hg]
Test item < 1.3× 10-8 < 1.0× 10-10 < 5.5× 10-8 < 4.1× 10-10
