Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
27/02/2019
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
column elution method
Key result
Water solubility:
< 0.01 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
>= 7.7 - <= 8.4
Details on results:
A UV scan of the sample prepared for the preliminary estimation gave no UV response when scanned in the UV spectrometer from 190 to 400nm. This indicates that the test item is either insoluble or that the UV response is so low that it is not possible to analyse the test item using UV detection in aqueous solutions.

Results tables available in the attached background document.

Conclusions:
The water solubility of 4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol, reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, mono, di and triesters with acrylic acid was determined to be <0.01 g/L @ room temperature.
Executive summary:

Water solubility testing using the column elution method was performed on 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, mono, di and triesters with acrylic acid in accordance with the EU Method A.6. The water solubility was determined to be <0.01 g/L at room temperature.
